Panama City is a relatively easy city to navigate, with modern forms of transportation available. Three major airports now service the city, with Tocumen International Airport (airport code PTY) offering the most options with regards to international connections.
Panama offers visa-free travel for the vast majority of countries around the world, including the United States and Canada. Visitors from Asia, including China, will require a visa in order to enter the country. Passports from countries not requiring a visa are allotted up to 180 days in the country (assuming a passport is valid for at least three months). For those countries that require a visa, the process is relatively simple and requires several key items.
For those that do require a visa, there are a standard set of requirements to obtain it including:
- Completed application form (available online)
- Copies of all passport pages
- Flight and itinerary details
- Copy of valid I.D
- Three photographs (2×2)
- Payment of visa fees
- Proof of funds during travel
- If applicable, a letter of invitation
