Boquete is a small, quiet mountainside town located adjacent to the city of David (approximately 50km). Those traveling from Panama City can fly a domestic airline to the David Airport, a trip of about 45 minutes. Busses and private shuttles are also available and, upon entering the town, most exploration can be done on foot.
Panama offers visa-free travel for the vast majority of countries around the world, including the United States and Canada. Visitors from Asia, including China, will require a visa in order to enter the country. Passports from countries not requiring a visa are allotted up to 180 days in the country (assuming a passport is valid for at least three months). For those countries that require a visa, the process is relatively simple and requires several key items.
For those that do require a visa, there are a standard set of requirements to obtain it including:
- Completed application form (available online)
- Copies of all passport pages
- Flight and itinerary details
- Copy of valid I.D
- Three photographs (2×2)
- Payment of visa fees
- Proof of funds during travel
- If applicable, a letter of invitation
