David is a small but developing city in west Panama and is often the central arrival point for those traveling to the nearby rainforests and other smaller towns such as Boquete. It is served by its own domestic airport, approximately a 45 minute flight from the hyper-developed Panama City.
Panama offers visa-free travel for the vast majority of countries around the world, including the United States and Canada. Visitors from Asia, including China, will require a visa in order to enter the country. Passports from countries not requiring a visa are allotted up to 180 days in the country (assuming a passport is valid for at least three months). For those countries that require a visa, the process is relatively simple and requires several key items.
For those that do require a visa, there are a standard set of requirements to obtain it including:
- Completed application form (available online)
- Copies of all passport pages
- Flight and itinerary details
- Copy of valid I.D
- Three photographs (2×2)
- Payment of visa fees
- Proof of funds during travel
- If applicable, a letter of invitation
